Intense confrontation between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jnr at weigh-in

SHOW-STEALERS Chris Eubank Jnr and Billy Joe Saunders shared one of the most tense face offs in British staredown history ahead of their eagerly-anticipated clash on Saturday night.

Neither flinched, even when prompted to stop, and Saunders began to talk to Eubank, who remained typically stoic.

Moments earlier, heavyweights Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora had been kept apart after their initially genial banter threatened to turn dark.

In the end, the weigh-in went off without serious incident and boxing can look forward to another huge 2014 night.

A decent crowd of several hundred watched as the rivals came head-to-head for the last time before they meet inside the ExCel Arena.

Fury weighed 18st 12lbs, Chisora was 17st 3 1/2lbs.

Saunders and Eubank locked eyes and Billy Joe did more of the talking as Eubank stared intently in a staredown that promoter Frank Warren attempted to halt. Ultimately, both faced the rows of photographers for pictures but it had been intense.

Eubank, who weighed in first, was 11st 4lbs 5oz, Saunders was 11st 4lbs 10oz.

Well-supported Bradley Skeete came in at 10st 6lbs 2oz ahead of his big test, against Frankie Gavin. Gavin was 10st 6lbs 8oz.

Gary Sykes (9st 3lbs 5oz) looked sharp ahead of his hotly-anticipated trade fight with Liam Walsh (9st 4lbs).

Andrew Robinson was 11st 12lbs 7oz before his fight with Frank Buglioni, who brought a vocal contingent. Looking in fine shape, Buglioni was 11st 13lbs 6oz.
