IBA Champions’ Night returns with Armenian fight card
Lenier Pero

THE latest IBA Champions’ Night hits Yerevan, Armenia, on Friday, January 17 and fans can watch the action unfold on a free live YouTube stream of the full card.

The eight-fight show is headlined by Pavel Sosulin, who tackles Carlo ‘Brown Sugar’ Bacaro of the Philippines over 10 rounds for the WBA Asia middleweight title. Both men are unbeaten as professionals.

Elsewhere, heavy-handed Moscow monster Khuseyn Baysangurov meets Venezuela’s Leonardo Sanchez at super-welterweight over 10.

There are some familiar names set to feature, including Cuban heavyweight Lenier Pero, currently 11-0 (8KOs), boxing out of Florida. Pero’s career was gathering pace under the PBC, especially after stopping prospect Viktor Vykhryst in eight rounds for the WBA Fedelatin heavyweight title.

Since losing momentum he has now swapped the PBC for the IBA in a bid to reignite the career flame. Pero, 32, boxes Armenia’s Davit Chaloyan over eight rounds.

Once a recognised world level prospect, Kudratillo Abdukakhorov now has four losses in the non-IBA ecosystem and is seeking a big win over Gurgen Madoyan to get things going again. Artur Bazeyan, Narek Manasyan and others make up the card.
