While the reported Shakur Stevenson opportunity has seemingly fallen by the wayside, Manny Pacquiao could nonetheless still feature on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.

The 47-year-old has not fought since July 2025, when he ended nearly four years of inactivity and boxed to a draw against then-WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

It then seemed likely that he would face Floyd Mayweather this past September, only for their rematch to be cancelled and removed from Netflix’s schedule.

Still, though, Pacquiao could end up featuring on the streaming platform on December 11, following reports that he may face pound-for-pound star Stevenson at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

With Zuffa Boxing promoter Dana White having labelled such reports as false, however, the Filipino has now been offered Joe Cordina as an opponent for the Fury-Joshua card.

The former two-time world champion was supposed to face WBO lightweight belt-holder Abdullah Mason in July, only for an ongoing legal situation to deny him a US visa.

And despite there being a looming court date, promoter Eddie Hearn has told BoxingScene that Welshman Cordina could move up to 147lbs and lock horns with Pacquiao.

“Eddie Hearn has revealed he has offered Joe Cordina to SELA [Fury-Joshua event organisers] as an opponent for Manny Pacquiao for the [Fury-Joshua] undercard.

“The contest would be at welterweight and he has also put forward Conah Walker and Jack Catterall’s names.”

While Cordina could, in theory, return to the ring later this year, he must first stand trial on October 13 after having pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault.

Walker and Catterall, meanwhile, are respectively pursuing fights with Alexis Rocha and WBA world champion Teofimo Lopez, though neither of which has been formally announced.
