Shakur Stevenson remains without a bout following his move to Zuffa Boxing in July, and the four-division world champion has been slammed by one Hall of Famer for ‘moving scared’ when able to secure major fights with his pound-for-pound rivals.
Stevenson captured the WBO super-lightweight title when he outpointed Teofimo Lopez back in January, becoming the third-youngest four-weight world champion in boxing history in the process.
However, after signing with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing in the summer, the Newark southpaw has failed to secure a second outing for 2026, despite he and WBO welterweight world champion Devin Haney publicly agreeing to a 144lb catchweight affair.
On his YouTube channel, two-division conqueror Tim Bradley gunned for Stevenson, telling the 29-year-old that he must take more chances in order to prove his greatness.
“You are moving scared, my boy. You are. You are moving so scared, bro, and that is not the nature of a fighter – a true freakin’ fighter. That is not the nature of a fighter, man, it isn’t.
“I don’t care how great you think you are, you have got to prove it. Prove your greatness and you have got to take chances. It is not about having that perfect ‘0’ like Andre Ward or [Terence] Crawford and all of that, where you fabricate the s**t. You don’t have to.
“Those guys fought against the best. You have to challenge yourself, my boy. That is it, you challenge yourself. You had an opportunity to fight [Devin] Haney at 144lbs and, for whatever reason, you weren’t comfortable with that, but you said that 144lbs was it?
“Then, you put more and more things on top of that after Haney said what he said. Now, you want to have a conversation to say that you want to fight Ryan Garcia? Come on, dog. Stop it.”
This week, rumours emerged that Stevenson’s Zuffa Boxing debut could finally be around the corner, linked to a super-lightweight unification clash with WBA titleholder Gary Antuanne Russell.
