EDDIE HEARN has promised something big when Matchroom Boxing returns to Monte Carlo later this year.
Monte Carlo Showdown VI was announced today in a Matchroom press release but with no fights confirmed. The event will take place on Saturday, December 6 at Salle des Etoiles amongst the surroundings of the millionaire’s playground.
“The exciting full card – which will see World Title fights and household names alike – will be confirmed in due course,” Matchroom wrote in their press release.
Joe Cordina, who has two wins from two appearances in Monte Carlo, is rumoured to be on the card. Heavyweight Johnny Fisher could also feature.
Last year Matchroom brought a five-fight card to the Salle des Etoiles featuring Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Cheavon Clarke, Gary Cully, Maxi Hughes, Beatriz Ferreira and Teremoana Teremoana.
Speaking ahead of this year’s show, Hearn said: “This really is a special event for Matchroom Boxing – and this year you will see the best card we have ever staged in the Principality.
“Monte-Carlo oozes with class and, over the years, we have matched it by delivering some truly memorable Fight Nights showcasing some of the biggest and best talent in the sport.
“Saturday, December 6, promises to match it once more with another unmissable evening. Get your tickets – and be ready to look sharp in your tuxedo too.”
