Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are set to meet for a second time on Saturday night, and David Haye has now offered his thoughts ahead of the hotly anticipated rematch.

In a fight of the year contender, it was Eubank Jr who did enough to get the nod on the judges’ scorecards in April, coming away with the bragging rights via three 116-112 verdicts in a unanimous decision win.

Speaking with Pro Boxing Fans, former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion Haye revealed that he expects an improved performance from both men.

“Both fighters are going to be improved, for sure. Conor, off the strength of the first time fighting a middleweight, he is going to be improved because he understands what it’s like and how he needs to pace himself. He has felt Chris’ power, he understands what it is all about.

“Eubank Jr, he is going to know now that it is a real fight. I think, in the first fight, he didn’t think that a welterweight would be able to hang with him like he did. I think that he was surprised.”

Yet, despite anticipating that Benn will have learnt from his mistakes, ‘The Hayemaker’ went on to predict a repeat outcome, with Eubank possibly scoring a more emphatic triumph this time around.

“I feel that Chris Eubank Jr, the naturally bigger man, has done the weight correctly, the first time around he missed the weight, so he didn’t get it right. He is going to come through this time around and physically; I think he will be in a much better place for this rematch.”

“I definitely feel that Chris Eubank Jr is going to win this one on points, or potentially a late stoppage if Benn really pushes it [the pace].”

Eubank-Benn 2 takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, November 15, as the pair top a bill that also features the likes of Adam Azim, Jack Catterall and Ishmael Davis.
