Devin Haney has shared some important insight ahead of his return to the ring.

Haney claimed world honours in a third division back in November when he defeated Brian Norman Jr to win the WBO welterweight title.

This current reign has gone alongside his spells as undisputed lightweight champion and WBC super-lightweight titleholder, with fans keen to discover who ‘The Dream’ will face next.

Haney has now confirmed who he looks likely to take on, whilst dismissing the challenge of an undefeated former world champion.

Posting on social media, Haney revealed that talks are ongoing with WBA welterweight champion Rolly Romero, along with labelling former WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis as a ‘fraud’ after Davis claimed he was also in discussions with Romero.

“lol dude a fraud.. fake calling me out but talking on the phone to Rolly. So he know for a fact me & Rolly are in negotiations. Admitted once he was calling me out for clout. He just running the same play.”

Romero won the WBA Regular welterweight title with a victory over Ryan Garcia in May 2025, before he was later elevated to full champion after Jaron Ennis vacated his belt.

It appears a unification between Haney and Romero is now on the cards, with May 30 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas touted as the possible date and location.

As for Davis, after losing his WBO lightweight title on the scales ahead of a planned fight against Edwin De Los Santos, he returned to action at 140lbs in January with a stoppage win against Jamaine Ortiz.

He stated after that bout his desire to move up to welterweight to potentially face Haney, but it seems any possible fight will have to wait until after Haney faces Romero.
