Oleksandr Usyk has shown little weaknesses thus far over the course an extensive boxing career, but there is one man who British boxing legend ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed believes can put an end to the Ukrainian’s undefeated record.

Usyk has maintained an unbeaten streak across both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, where he became the second fighter in boxing history to become an undisputed champion at both weights.

As a heavyweight, Usyk has become a household name around the globe, twice defeating each of Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois in a run that will be spoken about for generations to come.

However, at the age of 39 years old, Usyk has announced that he only has three fights left; the first of those being against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven, who boasts a professional boxing record of just 1-0.

Speaking with talkSPORT Boxing, Hamed declared that 21-year-old Moses Itauma can beat ‘anybody’, including Usyk, but added that he doesn’t believe the fight will happen before the Ukrainian’s retirement.

“Right now? He has not got the experience [to take the fight] right now, but if you was to push me, I still would say that Moses can beat anybody.

“Why would he [Usyk] fight him [Itauma]? It doesn’t make no sense, that is why I know that the fight is not gonna happen.”

Usyk vs. Verhoeven is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 23, with the WBC heavyweight world title on the line in an unconventional battle at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

As for Itauma’s next outing, the rising star is set to return to action in July following his impressive knockout win over Jermaine Franklin back in March.
