THE only man to beat Teofimo Lopez would be willing to fight him again.

George Kambosos Jr spoke to Little Giant Boxing during training for his July 22 bout against Maxi Hughes in Oklahoma.

Kambosos is aiming to bounce back from two consecutive losses to Devin Haney which were preceded by a win against Teofimo Lopez. That night at the Madison Square Garden Theatre saw an inspired Kambosos topple the then number one lightweight who was on pound-for-pound lists thanks to his win against Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Earlier this month Lopez returned to his brilliant best with a flashy win against Josh Taylor to take him to the top of the 140lbs division. Immediately afterwards the 23-year-old announced his retirement insisting he would only return for multi-million dollar pay days.

“He boxed well and picked his shots, and he was able to land. I think he’ll be back,” Kambosos said of his old rival’s triumph over Taylor.

“He’ll be back,” he continued.

“He talks about the money he was getting paid, and he needs more money and wants $100 million, which is never going to happen. Not even heavyweights get that kind of money. He’s not going to get that.

“When the money dries up, he’ll definitely be back. Inside the ring, it’ll never be peace between me and him. It’ll always be war. If he wants to do it again, I’ll see him again. I beat him. I took his belts and beat him fair and square. If he wants to get it done and it makes sense, maybe he can come over to Australia. I went to his backyard, or we can do it in Greece or somewhere else. Yeah, we can do it.”
