WE SPOKE to James DeGale a few weeks ago and he had some kind words for you after your loss to Jack – what was your reaction to that?
I don’t think either of us know what the other will say at any particular time. When James wins and when he loses there are plus sides for both [of us] but you get to the point where you don’t care anymore. I don’t give a f****** s*** what he thinks and what he does. I remember being a kid when he won the gold medal and I genuinely didn’t know how to feel about it, was it good or bad? Now he’s won a world title, I don’t care now. I watched his fight with [Andre] Dirrell, it was close, could have gone either way, it went to DeGale – OK. But good on him.
