SCOTTISH boxer Gary Murray remains in hospital after his contest at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh on Friday.

Paddy Gallagher halted Murray to win their Celtic title fight. Murray was previously unbeaten in 12 professional bouts.

Promoters MTK said that Murray was “taken to hospital following his 10 round contest on Friday night. The doctors discovered an injury which required immediate attention.

“Gary remains in hospital with his family. His is in a stable condition.

“We ask that everyone keeps Gary in their thoughts at this time. Our thoughts are with Gary and his family.”

Murray remains in hospital in a stable condition. In an update MTK added that “all signs are positive. We are hoping for his full and speedy recovery”.
