Tyson Fury vows to do something he hasn’t done in 4 years when he faces Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury suspects Anthony Joshua is “finished”, or at least that he will be after their long-awaited showdown.

The two British heavyweights are set to collide later this year, possibly in November, though a specific date and location are yet to be announced.

What we do know, however, is that Joshua will face little-known heavyweight Kristian Prenga on July 25, headlining a show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The level of his opponent, while perhaps disappointing, can be explained by the ‘warm-up’ nature of this fight, which represents his first outing since scoring a sixth-round finish over Jake Paul in December.

‘AJ’ was then involved in a tragic car crash later that month, losing his two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Fury, meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, but has expressed his interest in entering another warm-up fight in August.

Prior to outpointing Makhmudov in April, Fury had incurred 16 months of inactivity following his second points defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. For his last stoppage, fans must look back to 2022 against Derek Chisora.

It would therefore make sense for him to secure another tune-up fight but, either way, the 37-year-old has told IFL TV that he expects to knock Joshua out.

“100% [I’ll knock him out]. Joshua’s chinnier than a motherf**ker… He’s finished.”

Whether Joshua is completely “finished”, it remains to be seen, but many were making this assumption following his devastating fifth-round stoppage defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

This represents his last outing against a genuine world-class heavyweight, as opposed to a YouTuber-turned-boxer like Paul.
