Tyson Fury has offered a damning verdict on Anthony Joshua’s next opponent, fully expecting his domestic rival to take care of business.

The two Brits are expected to collide later this year, or early next year, though nothing has been confirmed regarding a specific date or location.

It does seem, however, that their long-awaited matchup is finally close to materialising, just so long as both men win their respective warm-up fights.

Despite coming off a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, Fury has since expressed his desire to enter another interim bout in August.

This seemingly remains up in the air, though, as an official announcement is yet to emerge, while Joshua at least has a confirmed assignment to prepare for.

The 36-year-old will be facing little-known heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 25, entering his first fight since scoring a sixth-round finish over Jake Paul in December.

While Prenga is far from the most dangerous opponent, Joshua was never likely to take a gamble before squaring off with Fury – and especially not after being involved in a tragic car crash that killed two of his closest friends.

Recognising this, Fury simply dismissed Prenga as little more than a part-time brawler when asked what he knew about the Albanian heavyweight by Pro Boxing Fans.

“I think he’s a doorman, isn’t he?”

While no opponent has been confirmed, 41-year-old Nelson Hysa has been rumoured as a potential option for Fury, who is perhaps more credible than a “doorman” but arguably does not pose a much greater threat than Prenga.
