Tyson Fury has shared his reaction after it was confirmed that Anthony Joshua will be working with trainer Ben Davison for the upcoming fight against ‘The Gypsy King.’

Long-term rivals Fury and Joshua are finally set to meet at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday 11 December, over a decade on from when the pair were first linked to one another.

Each fighter has gone through many ups and downs during that time, but they will each get the chance to become a three-time world heavyweight champion after the WBA title was announced as being on the line for the bout.

The last time Joshua competed for world honours he was beaten inside five rounds by IBF champion Daniel Dubois, with Davison in the corner for that bout.

Following that loss, ‘AJ’ left Davison in order to work with Oleksandr Usyk’s team, but Joshua will now work with his former coach in some capacity ahead of the clash with Fury.

It appears that ‘The Gypsy King’ sees that as a negative for Joshua, as he told Boxing News that it makes his rival ‘mentally weak.’

“It’s the same Ben Davison he left because he wasn’t good enough one fight ago. I don’t make anything of it to be fair. He left Ben Davison for a reason now he’s gone back begging him to train him. Mentally weak is what I see.”

Davison also famously trained Fury during his comeback to the sport in 2018, with the pair working together for five fights before ‘The Gypsy King’ left to join Sugar Hill Steward.

Davison isn’t the only former Fury trainer that is set to work with Joshua for December’s bout, with another big name also helping ‘AJ’ ahead of the contest.
