“He’s levels above”: Carl Froch compares Eddie Hearn and Dana White after Conor Benn move

Conor Benn’s move to Zuffa Boxing has added fuel to the fire of Eddie Hearn and Dana White’s rivalry, and fan-favourite fighter Carl Froch has offered his opinion on the situation, believing that one promoter is ‘levels above’ the other.

White’s aggressive entry in the world of boxing is well underway and Friday’s revelation of the signing of Benn has signalled his intent, with the Brit opting to leave long-term promoter Hearn, who has stood by his side through extreme adversity.

The move to snatch Benn from under Hearn’s nose has left White with the bragging rights, but Hearn is sure to offer a response, as he seeks to prove himself, Matchroom Boxing and DAZN as the ones to back in this race to take over the sport.

However, Froch, who worked with Hearn for the last five fights of his career, told his YouTube channel that he believes White is ‘leagues beyond’ his former promoter in terms of connections.

“Dana White has got this thing against Eddie Hearn, where they have got this little competition going where they give each other stick.

“To be honest, I don’t want to say that Eddie is out of his league because he is a great promoter, he is in America, he has done what he has done in England, he works hard.

“But, when you look at Dana White, he has got Donald Trump on speed dial for f*** sake, he is in with Turki Al-Alshikh, there is a guy called Nick Khan, who is well connected. They might be putting a [UFC] show on at The White House!

“So, there are levels to the game and levels to the world, and Dana White, really, is leagues beyond Eddie Hearn, unfortunately. Not necessarily in the boxing world, but with connections and backing, I don’t think you can go up against Dana White.”

Benn is expected to make his Zuffa Boxing debut before May 31st, with that event anticipated to be their first card on British soil.
