FRAZER CLARKE is backing himself to make it back-to-back demolition jobs when he fights Jeamie TKV on October 25.
The two heavyweights meet at the Vaillant Live Arena, Derby with the bout being shown live on BBC2 kickstarting a broadcasting deal between promoters Boxxer and BBC.
Clarke, 34, is no stranger to the big stage having won Olympic bronze at the delayed Tokyo Olympics. The Burton-on-Trent boxer also played his part in a heavyweight war against Fabio Wardley in March 2023. Their British title thriller at the O2 Arena in London ended in a draw but their rematch in Riyadh seven months later ended emphatically with a first-round KO win for Wardley.
Clarke bounced back in impressive fashion earlier this year with his own one-round win against Ghanaian scrapper Ebenezer Tetteh. Clarke spoke to Boxing News and responded to some criticism over the victory using Dillian Whyte’s struggles to beat Tetteh last December.
“It’s mad, isn’t it? People have short memories. People seeing it’s Ebenezer Tetteh and you get all the comments, ‘Oh, he looks about 50’ blah-blah-blah. But then if Dillian Whyte had beat him in one round [then] ‘Oh, Dillian Whyte is back’ – he goes on to massive fights blah-blah-blah. But he didn’t. He struggled. Laboured through it. I knocked him out in one round and it’s not even a good win.
“It don’t matter who was in front of me, I was going to take him out that day and it was him. I’ll do the same in 25th.”
