A mouth-watering domestic dustup between Ryan Garner and Reece Bellotti has plenty of legs in the eyes of Queensberry Promotions boss Frank Warren.

The two super-featherweight operators are coming off glittering performances, with a possible Matchroom vs Queensberry showdown now gathering a sizable degree of traction.

Garner, 17-0 (8 KOs), expressed his interest in taking on the British and Commonwealth champion after claiming the European title with a shutout points victory over Salvador Jimenez.

The pair squared off at the BIC in Bournemouth, England, last Saturday, with the Southampton slickster returning to the South Coast for the first time in just under eight years.

While Jimenez produced a somewhat passive display, Garner nonetheless maintained his relentless work rate to dominate all 12 rounds on the judges’ scorecards.

Bellotti, 20-5 (15 KOs), meanwhile, secured an equally emphatic tenth-round stoppage victory over Michael Gomez Jnr last month, making a successful third defence of his Lonsdale Belt.

The 34-year-old has amassed six wins since losing to former world champion Raymond Ford back in 2021, no longer seeking to end each fight inside the distance but instead adopting a far more measured approach.

And so, with the seasoned technician holding two coveted titles, Bellotti now seemingly represents an appealing option for Garner.

The 27-year-old’s promoter, Warren, has since promised to deliver his fighter a world title shot, but also sees a great deal of value in the possible all-British clash.

With Bellotti belonging to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing stable, too, their matchup could potentially appear on a second 5v5 card between the promotional outfits.

“I like that fight for [Garner],” Warren told BBC Sport reporter Dan George. “It would be a good fight for the fans to watch.

“We’ll obviously speak to our counterparts at Matchroom and see if we can do that. When there’s two Brits fighting each other, you know there’s going to be more needle.

“And with the two promotional companies as well, it adds a bit more spice to it.”
