First Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor press conference confirmed

FLOYD MAYWEATHER and Conor McGregor will meet face to face for the first time next week when they take part in the first press conference for their August 26 fight.

The flamboyant pair will talk up their clash at a media event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday July 11.

The conference is to be part of a “multi-city press tour” which has been rumoured to even be travelling to London, though details of further press conferences have not yet been revealed.

Just Announced. @FloydMayweather vs @TheNotoriousMMA press conference on Tue, Jul 11. Tix avail tomorrow at 12pm. https://t.co/12BeKnX5OApic.twitter.com/lbD3vYGf7d

The press conference is open to the public, who must acquire tickets for free online.

The Staples Center describes the conference as “a star-studded event that will feature a live performance and special guests”.

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, will be making his professional boxing debut against all-time great Mayweather, who himself is coming out of retirement for the fight.

Though the contest itself is all but guaranteed to be a mismatch, the pre-fight build-up looks as though it will be entertaining given both fighters’ proclivity for mental warfare.

You are in quicksand.
