FABIO WARDLEY has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions.

The British heavyweight champion has operated largely as a free agent over the last few years but has now officially aligned himself with Warren by penning what has been described as a ‘multi-fight promotional agreement’.

The first of those outings will come on October 12 when he faces Frazer Clarke in their anticipated rematch as part of the stacked undercard for the undisputed light-heavyweight clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitrii Bivol in Riyadh.

The heavyweight pair met in March in a Fight of the Year contender at the o2 Arena, London which ended in a split draw after 12 rounds.

Now they will do it again seven months on in what will be Wardley’s second fight in Saudi following his seventh round stoppage victory over David Adeleye in October, which gleaned the British title in the first place.

Of his agreement with Queensberry, Wardley said: “At this stage in my career, aligning myself with the best promoter is crucial and I couldn’t be in better hands than with Frank and George. Seeing the massive fights and shows that Queensberry have put together over the past few years has me really excited about the future and what we can achieve together!”

His new promoter Warren added: “Fabio understandably had a lot of offers on the table and I could not be more pleased that he has chosen Queensberry to promote his career at such a pivotal time. He has a huge rematch in October and once he comes through that I truly believe he’s ready to challenge anyone in the top 10.

“The heavyweight division could not be more exciting at the moment and Fabio has already shown himself to be a serious part of that with some real standout performances.”

Undefeated Wardley, still only 29, is currently 17-0-1 with all but one of those victories coming inside the distance.
