Errol Spence Jr continues to be linked to a comeback despite his prolonged inactivity. Now, the former unified titleholder has been publicly called out by a fellow former world champion.

Spence is yet to fight since his devastating defeat when bidding for the undisputed welterweight throne against Terence Crawford back in July 2023, where he suffered a first career loss.

In that fight, ‘The Truth’ was noticeably hampered by his struggles to make 147lbs and the slick southpaw has been rumoured for fights at both super-welterweight and middleweight as a result.

On Saturday night, following a second hometown victory of 2025, former WBC super-welterweight titlist Tony Harrison called Spence Jr. out in his post-fight interview, as the Detroit fan-favourite revealed plans for a clash at 160lbs, in a clip captured by Thrill Boxing.

“Middleweight is where I am comfortable, I made the weight good, but I just had a southpaw fight and the good thing about being from Detroit is that I know when somebody has got the itch. I know when somebody wants to come back to the sport, I know when somebody is fiending to come back to the sport.

“I want to fight somebody of my generation; I think a fight with Errol Spence would please everybody. I think me and him coming back, champion versus champion, skills versus skill, toughness versus toughness.

“I ain’t doing no running, I’m there to be hit, so if you feel like you the man, I love you my dawg, but let’s give the fans what they want to see.”

Now 35 years old, Spence Jr. maintains that he will return to boxing when he is ready, although Harrison would undoubtedly be a viable option if that time is soon.
