Errol Spence Jr. continues to be linked to a comeback and the former unified welterweight world champion could head overseas for his first bout in almost three years.

Spence picked up three of the four 147lbs belts by defeating each of Kell Brook, Shawn Porter and Yordenis Ugas ahead of a long-awaited undisputed title showdown with Terence Crawford in 2023.

There, Spence suffered the first defeat of his career and did so in devastating style, battered from pillar to post by Crawford, with many of his fans believing the weight cut and previous injuries sustained in a car crash played their parts in the underwhelming performance from ‘The Truth’.

As a result, if Spence does return it is believed it will take place up at super-welterweight, and No Limit Boxing’s Matt Rose told BoxingScene that he is keen to stage a fight between the American and Tim Tszyu in Australia.

“There’s always fights to be made for Tim, like Errol Spence, but there’s a lot you’ve got to go through to get to that point,”

“The main focus is to continue to keep Tim active – and he’s ready to fight. He come through the last fight really well.”

“There’s a few things to play out, I think. But do I like the Spence fight? It’s a great fight; it’s a great name. It’s a legacy-type fight, so if we’re able to achieve that that’d be fantastic, but at this stage there’s still a fair bit to happen for that to even get close.”

Tszyu suffered bruising defeats to both Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev in 2024, then beat Joseph Spencer before loses again to Fundora in a rematch. He got back to winning ways in December of last year against Anthony Velazquez.

Rose is targeting April as Tszyu’s return date. Liam Paro, who No Limit also promotes, and Lewis Crocker may also collide that same month in an IBF welterweight world title clash, with purse bids set for February 2.
