ENZO MACCARINELLI’S bid for the European cruiserweight title ended in 2-48 of the first round as Ukrainian Dmytro Kucher clinically struck him down.
Enzo had been controlling the round with his jab. But a stern left hook wobbled Maccarinelli badly. The Ukrainian followed it up a one-two-left hook combination each shot shuddering into the Welshman’s chin. Maccarinelli crumpled and hurt he just could not rise in time to beat the count.
Enzo is a former cruiserweight world champion and a former European title holder but this result marks the end of his career.
“Sorry guys felt OK in there then got tagged absolutely devastated I had to end my career like that,” Maccarinelli stated on social media. “Thank you ever so much for all the well wishes guys as you can expect I’m fooking devastated.”
