Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul reach lawsuit settlement ahead of Taylor-Serrano 3

A near three-year legal battle between Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn and YouTube star Jake Paul has now finally been put to bed.

Hearn filed a defamation lawsuit against the American back in 2022, seeking damages equating to $100,000,000 after approaching a court in New York.

This was in response to Paul’s accusation in an IFL TV interview that the British promoter had bribed boxing judge Glen Feldman.

Feldman produced a wide scorecard of 97-93 in favour of Irish phenom Katie Taylor when she collided with Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden, New York.

Last year, the two stars of women’s boxing locked horns once again in a fiercely anticipated rematch, this time featuring on the undercard of Paul’s controversial showdown with Mike Tyson.

While Taylor, 24-1 (6 KOs), claimed a unanimous decision victory after edging a split decision in their first encounter, the three judges’ scorecards of 95-94 all offered a truer reflection of their compelling battle.

And now, as the undisputed super-lightweight queen gears up for her trilogy with Serrano, 47-3-1 (31 KOs), on July 11, it would appear that both Hearn and Paul have finally settled their differences.

Attorneys for all parties, including Hearn, Feldman and Paul, officially filed for a dismissal of the lawsuit on Monday.

As a result, the case will no longer proceed to trial, with Hearn, who is the long-term promoter of Taylor, seemingly letting his counterpart off the hook.

Paul, meanwhile, continues to expand his stable of female fighters under the MVP Promotions banner after building a strong relationship with Serrano.
