WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has returned to full training after recovering from hand and bicep injuries he suffered during his win over Chris Arreola in July.

Wilder broke his right hand and tore his bicep muscle while forcing Arreola to retire after eight rounds, injuries which will sideline him until early 2017.

However he claims he has healed from those injuries ahead of schedule and is eyeing big fights next year.

My hand and bicep have healed and I’m back in training. 2017 is the year I unify. The king will return soon. #WaitForIt#BombZquadpic.twitter.com/5GjL5piPwf

The unbeaten American has so far failed to defend his title against a meaningful contender, though he insists he wants the division’s big names from now on.

IBF champion Anthony Joshua defends his title against Wilder victim Eric Molina next weekend and should be match with former division supremo Wladimir Klitschko afterward, while the vacant WBO title will be contested by Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz in New Zealand.
