DAVID PRICE continued his comeback on the undercard of Nathan Cleverly’s win over Juergen Braehmer in the Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

He stopped Croatian journeyman Ivica Perkovic in two rounds.

“It was about using the night for a purpose really, getting back in the ring, getting back under the lights, going through the fight day routine and just working through things we’ve been working on in the gym,” Price told Sky Sports. “It was a worthwhile exercise.”

He wants to move on to big fights now. “I’ve got to be in the mix with the top 10 heavyweights in the world. I’m improving week in, week out. I’ve been in the gym all summer and I’m feeling the benefits of it now,” he said.

“If the offer came along to fight Anthony Joshua then you’d take it. It’s a life changing opportunity to become a world champion. Other than that, if it’s a matter of waiting around for something, we’ll take meaningful fights in the mean time.”

Prices wants to be on the November 26 Joshua bill. “I’m the hardest hitting heavyweight in the country, so get me right on there,” he said.

Britain’s Ohara Davies was also on the Cleverly show, knocking out Chaquib Fadli in two rounds.
