AHEAD of interviewing David Haye late today regarding his January 16 comeback, at the O2 against Mark de Mori, Boxing News, as you would expect did it’s due diligence. We have now been informed by the Board that Haye, former unified cruiserweight and WBA heavyweight champion, has recently been granted a promoter’s license by the British Boxing Board of Control and will therefore be the named promoter of the show on which his return clash will take place. Goodwin Boxing have struck a deal to provide the undercard for the big event.

Previous Hayemaker shows had seen Haye’s former trainer and associate Adam Booth as the named promoter but now Haye is a promoter in his own right. The fighter has also regained his boxer’s license after a three-and-a-half-year hiatus from active competition and, now working with the Salter brothers, who run an entertainment, media and marketing company, and trained by Shane McGuigan, has seemingly removed any barriers from his big night in January.
