Terence Crawford has shown little appetite for reversing his retirement since walking away from boxing unbeaten, despite no shortage of attempts to bring him back into the ring.
The former undisputed champion called time on his career after defeating Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, ending a historic run in which he became a world champion across five divisions and retired without suffering a professional defeat.
Since then, Crawford has repeatedly been linked with potential comeback fights, with several active stars suggesting they could provide the sort of challenge capable of changing his mind. The 38-year-old, however, has consistently maintained that he is content with what he achieved and has nothing left to prove.
Another call for his return has now prompted a response from ‘Bud’ on X.
“I just be waiting to see people’s energy when I see them. I am getting told old for all that. Well see y’all in Vegas next week.”

The latest fighter attempting to provoke the pound-for-pound star into a return is Ryan Garcia, who has repeatedly targeted him ahead of next week’s WBC welterweight title defence against Conor Benn.
Garcia has branded Crawford a ‘hater’, questioned the quality of the opponents he faced during his career and argued that he could have pursued more of the biggest names available.
He has also told Crawford that he should remain retired because he is now ‘irrelevant’, while simultaneously suggesting the pair could settle their differences in the ring.
Their exchanges have intensified with Crawford spending time in the gym with Benn during preparations for the September 12 fight in Las Vegas, and at least a part of these latest posts appear to be directed Garcia’s way.
The WBC champion must have full focus on mandatory challenger Benn, however, with a win setting him up for major unifications in the division that Crawford became undisputed in back in 2023.
