Terence Crawford has shared his thoughts on where Floyd Mayweather stands in the debate over the greatest of all time.

Crawford has put himself into that conversation in recent times, with a victory over Canelo Alvarez in September seeing ‘Bud’ become undisputed super-middleweight champion, having moved up two weight divisions in the process.

Prior to that, Crawford had also been undisputed at welterweight and super-lightweight, while further world honours at 135lbs and 154lbs make him a five-division world champion.

Another man that was a five-division world champion was Mayweather, who dominated the sport throughout the 2000s and 2010s, establishing himself as the face of boxing and pound-for-pound number one.

He claimed wins over fellow legends such as Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo to name just a few, and Crawford has now revealed where he believes Mayweather ranks when it comes to talking about the best ever.

In a round of quickfire questions prior to his bout with Spence, Crawford admitted that he views Mayweather as the greatest of this current era, but when it comes to all time, he feels another man is above him.

“The GOAT of right now is Floyd, but all time got to be Sugar Ray Robinson.”

Robinson had an illustrious career from 1940 to 1965, where at one stage he had put together a record of 129-1-2 with 85 knockouts, including a 91-fight unbeaten streak along the way.

He was world welterweight champion from 1946 to 1951, plus a five-time world middleweight champion, finishing with 174 wins from 201 fights, making it clear why Crawford, along with many others, view him as the greatest ever.
