Terence Crawford has offered his true thoughts on a potential clash between Devin Haney and Keyshawn Davis, removing any bias as he assesses their matchup.

The two welterweights have been ordered to collide for Haney’s WBO title, with a purse bid hearing scheduled to take place on July 27.

It has also been reported that the three-weight world champion has inked a multi-fight deal with DAZN, who announced the signing of Teofimo Lopez earlier this week.

If proven to be true, then Haney’s relationship with the streaming platform could see him face the winner of Lopez’s 147lb clash with WBA champion Rolando Romero, which takes place on August 22.

Another potential unification match could equally emerge after September 12, when Ryan Garcia defends his WBC title against Conor Benn at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

Until then, though, it does appear that Haney is likely to face mandatory challenger Davis, who comes off a unanimous decision victory over Nahir Albright in May.

Previously, ‘The Businessman’ would train and share rounds of sparring with Crawford, who stopped short of selecting a winner while speaking with ALL THE SMOKE FIGHT.

“That’s a tough fight for both of them. You’ve got Keyshawn – sharp as ever; mean. You’ve got Devin – he’s sharp, good boxer, got the experience, been through the fire, been tested.

“But Keyshawn believes in himself. It’s going to take a special fighter to beat Keyshawn, just like it’s going to take a special fighter to beat Devin.”

While being a former lightweight champion, Davis is yet to test the waters at 147lbs.

Haney, on the other hand, comes off a dominant welterweight title-winning triumph against Brian Norman Jr in November.
