Conor Benn has given fans a glimpse into just how dramatically his body has changed since making the welterweight limit for tonight’s fight with Ryan Garcia.
Benn weighed in at 146lbs on Friday, comfortably underneath the 147lb limit despite weeks of discussion over how difficult the cut would be after years of fighting above welterweight. Garcia, for his third contest in the division, came in at 145.5lbs.
The Brit had already spoken openly about the challenge of getting back down to 147lbs, having not fought at the weight since 2022 and since competing as high as middleweight against Chris Eubank Jr. He has also said that the Garcia fight will be his final appearance in the division.
Only hours after making weight, Benn posted a video of himself stepping back onto the scales following the rehydration process, showing an extreme gain after fluids and food.

The reading showed 178.4lbs, although Benn was fully clothed at the time, meaning the true gain will be lower.
Even allowing for that, it represents a dramatic increase from the 146lbs he recorded at the official weigh-in and underlines just how much weight he had taken off in order to make the championship limit. Given the extreme nature, many have questioned whether or not there is some gamesmanship at play from Benn.
Regardless, the focus now turns to how Benn looks once the fight begins, with the rehydration potentially giving him a considerable size advantage by the time he and Garcia step into the ring.
However, fellow fighters have been quick to warn the Brit that how he made the weight, and how he rehydrates, will play a significant role in the action, with questions over punch resistance and gas tank only answerable when the first bell rings.
The fight tops the bill at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas this evening.
