Christian Mbilli vs Maciej Sulecki weigh-in
TWO contrasting frames – one chiselled and compact, the other lean and wiry – nonetheless weighed the same ahead of tomorrow’s appetising main event.
The super-middleweight offering will see world-ranked contenders Christian Mbilli and Maciej Sulecki lock horns, headlining a Top Rank card at the Centre Videotron in Quebec, Canada.
For Mbilli, 28-0 (23 KOs), this opportunity – to claim the WBC interim strap and, in turn, become the mandatory challenger for Canelo Alvarez – represents another step towards a far more meaningful title shot.
But while the 30-year-old is a sizable favourite heading into their clash, Sulecki, 33-3 (13 KOs), to his credit, finds himself coming off an encouraging tenth-round stoppage victory over Ali Akhmedov.
Elsewhere on the card, former heavyweight bogeyman Arslanbek Makhmudov looks to revitalise his career after suffering recent stoppage defeats to Agit Kabayel and Guido Vianello.
