Chris Eubank Jr trashes Saunders, names next three fights

CHRIS Eubank Jr has revealed the three fighters he wants to face in his upcoming bouts.

The 35-year-old’s stock is at an all-time high after his thrilling victory over Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month. Their gruelling battle, a strong contender for Fight of the Year in 2025, showcased the heart and determination of both fighters, who traded skill for sheer will in the gripping final rounds.

The brutal contest left both Eubank Jr and Benn requiring hospital visits post-fight. Nearly two weeks later, Eubank Jr reflected on the event during an in-depth interview on the world-renowned podcast The Diary of a CEO with host Steven Bartlett.

Among the topics discussed, Eubank was asked about his ideal opponents for his next three fights. He named former WBO middleweight and super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders as one of the trio. Eubank, who lost to Saunders in November 2014, also addressed their history, intensified by a pre-fight altercation when Benn’s team asked Saunders to observe Eubank’s hand-wrapping process.

“Not only is he a drug cheat,” Eubank said, referencing Saunders’ six-month suspension for a failed test in 2020, “but he is actually a real scummy human being. I don’t talk about anybody like this so if I’m saying it about him there’s a reason. He is a bad, bad person. A terrible advocate for the sport. Just a real low-life human. I would love to get my hands on him because he does have a win over me. That’s another fight that’s a possibility in the future.”

However, Eubank acknowledges that a rematch with Conor Benn is the most immediate priority, given the intense public interest and the drama of their recent clash.

“I feel like the demand for this Conor Benn fight is at an all-time high right now so I feel like that would be the fight to make next,” Eubank said. “Then you have Canelo. That is a fight that I’ve been wanting for years and I would love to share the ring with that man. And then we could throw Saunders in at the end.”
