Chris Eubank Jr has been involved in a number of heated rivalries over the years and now one could be revisited, after one of his former foes revealed his willingness to fight him ‘at any weight’.
The 36-year-old has antagonised a number of fellow Britons over the years, with James DeGale, Liam Williams and most recently Conor Benn each being rubbed up the wrong way.
However, after an underwhelming display in his rematch with Benn last time out, which was largely attributed to a difficult weight cut, Eubank is poised to move on from that rivalry and return to the super-middleweight division for the first time since 2019.
At 168 fights with the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Hamzah Sheeraz may await him, but there is one familiar face that has thrown his name into the mix for a bout up at ‘any weight.’
Speaking to iFL TV, former super-welterweight world champion Liam Smith offered to step up to super-middleweight for a decisive trilogy clash with Eubank.
“Eubank and Conor Benn’s not having a trilogy, I believe that Eubank has gone to 168lbs. I’ll fight him at 168lbs if he wants.
“It’s 1-1, who the f**k leaves it at 1-1 but yeah, I think I would fight him at any weight to be honest with you. As long as I was fit and ready, I would fight him at any weight.”
Smith has also looked below par as of late, with injuries and weight cuts hindering both his September 2023 rematch with Eubank and his April 2025 comeback defeat against Aaron McKenna.
As a result, a move up to 168lbs could be next for ‘Beefy’, regardless of whether Eubank accepts a third fight with the Liverpudlian.
