As Riyadh Season continues to hoover up boxing’s biggest events, it now appears ready to claim the one fight British fans have waited years to see. Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua — the heavyweight super-fight that refused to materialise in its prime — is reportedly being lined up for 2026.

This weekend Ring magazine revealed that the Battle of Britain could headline a Riyadh Season card, provided both men come through warm-up bouts unscathed. For Joshua, that includes his mega-money crossover fight against Jake Paul on December 19.The currently retired Fury, meanwhile, appears ready to leave normality behind and return to the ring, putting one of the final pieces in place to ensure the fight finally happens.

Former Fury opponent Derek Chisora, who lost three times to the “Gypsy King”, has been giving his verdict to talkSPORT on the latest update and even offered an early prediction.

“About time we get that fight going. We need that for us, for Great Britain. Forget the whole world. We need that for ourselves. I’m happy.

“Can you imagine if Tyson Fury retired, AJ retired without fighting each other? It don’t make sense for us. We wanna see it. I’m not even picking sides. I just want to see a great fight.

“Actually, I’ll be honest I’m gonna pick sides. AJ wins it. The way they’re training him and the way he’s gonna be boxing we’ll see a totally different guy.”

Joshua, who has previously worked with Robert McCracken, Robert Garcia, Derrick James and Ben Davison, has now linked up with Oleksandr Usyk’s team as he prepares for his eight-round bout against Paul. The former unified heavyweight champion relocated to Spain for the camp as he looks to avoid what would be arguably the biggest boxing upset of all time.
