Derek Chisora has claimed he knows who Fabio Wardley will make the first defence of his WBO heavyweight title against.
Wardley had a year to remember in 2025, first picking up a knockout win over Justis Huni in June, before following that up with a stoppage of Joseph Parker in October.
That victory over Parker saw Wardley become interim WBO heavyweight champion, and he was later elevated to full champion after Oleksandr Usyk chose to vacate his belt in search of more lucrative options rather than take on his mandatory challenger.
Fans have speculated over the past couple of months who Wardley could put his belt on the line against, with Chisora himself even one of the names that has been mentioned.
‘Del Boy’ insists he knows who it will be, telling Seconds Out that Wardley is set to take on hard-hitting domestic rival Daniel Dubois.
“I’ll tell you a little scoop. Daniel [Dubois] is fighting Fabio. Don’t tell anyone.”
Dubois, former IBF heavyweight champion, was last in action in July when he came up short in his undisputed title showdown against Usyk at Wembley Stadium.
Prior to that, ‘DDD’ had put together a great run that saw him earn stoppage wins against Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller, with those victories coming under the tutelage of trainer Don Charles.
Dubois and Charles split after the loss to Usyk last summer, but the pair have recently had a shock return. A clash between ‘DDD’ and Zhilei Zhang had been rumoured, but if Chisora is to be believed, Dubois may be about to head straight back into a world title fight.
