After 50 professional bouts, heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora has reflected on his near two-decade long career and revealed who was better between Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk and Vitali Klitschko when he boxed them.
‘Del Boy’ has twice challenged for world honours during his long career, losing a decision to Klitschko back in 2012 and then being halted by Fury ten years later in two unsuccessful bids for the WBC heavyweight crown.
Chisora’s bout against Usyk came back in October 2020 in what was the Ukrainian’s second fight at heavyweight, and it proved to be a somewhat competitive affair, with Usyk claiming a unanimous decision win after being pushed hard throughout the 12 rounds.
It seemed that Chisora would call time on his career after losing to Deontay Wilder in a supposed farewell fight this April, but all hope may not be lost for ‘Del Boy’, as the 42-year-old had a face-off with newly-crowned WBA heavyweight world champion Murat Gassiev last month.
As a result, it is unknown if Chisora has fought his last fight, but when reminiscing over his career, the British fan-favourite told Jack Figg why, despite Usyk having the best defence, footwork and ring IQ of any of his dance partners, Fury must be considered as his greatest opponent.

Along with his world title fight with Fury in 2022, Chisora’s other bouts against his countryman came in the early 2010s, first suffering a unanimous decision loss to ‘The Gypsy King’ in July 2011, before a 10th round retirement defeat also followed in November 2014.
