Former heavyweight rivals David Haye and Derek Chisora have had their say on what could unfold on Friday night when Anthony Joshua faces Jake Paul in Miami.

Following an unsavoury incident between the pair in Germany in February 2012, Haye and Chisora settled their feud a year later at Upton Park, where Haye stopped Chisora in five rounds. The former rivals would later become friends, with Haye managing Chisora from 2018 until 2021.

Haye, a former WBA heavyweight champion, and Chisora, a former world title challenger, both appeared as guest panellists on The Sun Sport alongside unbeaten cruiserweight Viddal Riley to discuss what is being billed as the biggest crossover event in heavyweight boxing.

Chisora, never one to mince his words, delivered a blunt message to Joshua.

“Knock this motherf****r out, man. If the fight goes past two rounds, I’m turning off my Netflix.”

Haye believes the apparent inevitability of the outcome could make the contest unpredictable.

“It seems so one-sided. It seems every single benefit is there, outside the psychological side of it — with AJ taking it lightly. I think something dramatic is gonna happen. I think it’s gonna be the biggest upset in sporting history.”

Joshua will weigh no more than 245lbs at the weigh-in after agreeing to a contract stipulation added by Paul, who scaled his career-heaviest 227¼lbs last year during his farcical victory over 58-year-old Mike Tyson.

‘Jake vs Joshua’ takes place on Friday 19th December and will be streamed live on Netflix.
