CHRIS Eubank Jr caused quite the stir in Manchester this evening as he went after Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn during a heated press conference.

The pair exchanged the usual mix of verbal barbs during the top table discussions before the customary face-off. Eubank Jr reached into his jacket pocket during the face-off and slapped Conor Benn in the face with an egg, in reference to claims his opponent previously made regarding PED concerns.

Enraged at the incident, Benn struggled fiercely with multiple security personnel, snarling as the yolk streamed down his face. Nigel Benn was on the stage, having shaken hands with Ronnie Davies before the madness ensued.

Appearing angered by the incident, promoter Eddie Hearn, who was chided all night by Chris Eubank Jr, explained how the fight itself, scheduled for April 26 in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will be a firefight.

This incident will have sufficiently hyped up the pay-per-view sales. Interest remains high among the British public, given the history between their fighting fathers.

The original meeting was cancelled when Benn failed a drug test for clomifene, leading to a long crusade to clear his name that included a huge dossier of evidence that has never been revealed.

This won’t be the end of the shenanigans, as a second press conference is scheduled for Thursday in London.
