CANELO Alvarez’s undisputed super-middleweight title clash with Terence Crawford will be broadcast live on Netflix, it has been confirmed today.
The pair will look to make history in Las Vegas on September 13 as the Mexican star, 63-2-2 (39 KOs), puts all of his 168-pound silverware on the line against Crawford, 41-0 (31 KOs), who is moving up from super-welterweight for a shot at glory.
A Saudi press release has now confirmed that Netflix will stream the event, promoted in association with UFC chairman Dana White, to millions of households worldwide.
“On September 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” Canelo stated in the release. “I’m super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix.”
The content giant last dabbled in boxing at the close of 2024 by screening Jake Paul’s crossover heavyweight fight with Mike Tyson. The production was reported to have garnered around 65 million streams, with Paul winning by decision.
It is hoped that by the time Canelo and ‘Bud’ Crawford throw down, the unfortunate technical issues that plagued the aforementioned broadcast are resolved. The bout is included in the existing package costing. No additional pay-per-view charges will be required.
