British, Commonwealth and European super-middleweight champion Callum Simpson, 18-0 (13 KOs), will return one more time before the end of the year.
The unbeaten 29-year-old has already enjoyed a busy 2025 with wins over Steed Woodall, Elvis Ahorgah and Ivan Zucco, respectively. The latter earned Simpson the European strap at Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Football Ground but also doubled up as a farewell between promoter Boxxer and Sky Sports whose broadcasting agreement came to an end.
Ben Shalom now has the eyes of the UK on his stable as Boxxer team up with terrestrial giant BBC. And on December 20 Simpson will fight live on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer as he defends his titles against English champion Troy Williamson, 21-4-1 (15 KOs), at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Simpson vs Williamson has been the favoured defence for the champion ever since Williamson, 34, upset the odds against Mark Dickinson in September. ‘Trojan’ Troy now gets a chance to become a two-weight British champ after picking up the super-welterweight Lonsdale strap in a thriller against Ted Cheeseman four years ago.
Boxxer should have began life with the BBC last month with the vacant British heavyweight title fight between Frazer Clarke and Jeamie TKV. Injury to the latter put the bout back, however, and now goes ahead on November 29 from Vaillant Live in Derby.
