5. Jock McAvoy
The “Rochdale Thunderbolt” was an explosive puncher with a rock-hard chin. He had 148 fights (1927-45) but lost only two inside the limit – one being from a broken nose in his second year as a pro and the other to Freddie Mills towards the end.
