BOXXER’S BBC debut will have to wait a little longer.
Ben Shalom’s outfit were set to launch their partnership with the free-to-air broadcaster on October 25, headlined by Frazer Clarke, 9-1-1 (7 KOs), and Jeamie TKV, 8-2 (5 KOs), battling for the vacant British heavyweight title in Derby.
Moments ago, Boxxer confirmed the show will now take place on November 29 at Vaillant Live, Derby after TKV suffered an injury. BBC will broadcast the event on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
The original October date would have gone head-to-head with DAZN’s pay-per-view card at London’s O2 Arena, where Joseph Parker defends against Fabio Wardley.
The new date creates another clash – this time with Eddie Hearn’s Birmingham show, featuring Ben Whittaker, who recently left Boxxer for Matchroom.
Clarke and TKV have fought for the Lonsdale Belt three times between them. Earlier this year, Wardley held on to his title after a brutal 12-round draw with Clarke, before stopping him in one round in their rematch. TKV, meanwhile, was halted by David Adeleye in a controversial sixth round during their uninspiring clash six months ago.
