1 Deontay Wilder

Twelve months after he was stopped in brutal fashion by Tyson Fury, the heavy-handed Deontay Wilder returned to action in October of 2022 with plenty of questions marks hanging over him. He was, at 37, coming off not one stoppage defeat by Fury but two (the other took place in 2020) and many feared he would return gun-shy or perhaps no longer possessing the confidence of old. Any such concerns, however, were put to bed the moment his right hand connected with the jaw of poor Robert Helenius, his respectable comeback opponent, on October 15 at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn. We knew then, in less than three minutes, that the “Bronze Bomber” was still a force; a terrifying one at that.
