DMITRY BIVOL is choosing to take the defeat to Artur Beterbiev on the chin and move on.

The former WBA light-heavyweight champion lost his title in the ring last night after his biggest rival won a 12-round majority decision.

However, the 33-year-old isn’t interested in complaining about the judges’ decision which many believed he deserved to get.

“I just need to be better, I just need to be perfect and that’s it – this is my philosophy on life,” Bivol told Boxing News.

The fight was an absorbing encounter with swings in momentum and success on both sides. Despite there being talk about a rematch Bivol was more interested in putting the fight behind him.

“If I get the rematch I will see what I will do different. I don’t want to talk about it. Turki Alalshikh, according to Eddie [Hearn], said he wants to make the rematch.”

He added, “I’m happy that I have some plans already for the future.”

Bivol had been respectful throughout fight week showing little interest in getting involved in anything but fighting in the ring.

Asked if the defeat was hurting, however, he replied: “It happened. I don’t have time for some pity feelings. I just need to move forward, I just forget about it.”
