News of Devin Haney’s next fight looks to be around the corner with his father and coach, Bill Haney, confirming that announcements are imminent.
Haney became a three-division world champion when he outpointed Brian Norman Jr. to pick up the WBO welterweight world title in November last year. The American star has been linked to fights with Keyshawn Davis and Shakur Stevenson since.
On Monday, the WBO officially ordered purse bid proceedings for a clash against mandatory challenger Davis, which are set to take place on Monday, July 27.
Speaking to ThaBoxingVoice, Bill Haney provided an update.
“Our [promotional] deal is done and we are looking for an announcement. Devin’s deal is done and it has been done in principal for quite some time, but the announcement is imminent.
“I think that announcement will come after the announcement of who he is fighting because that is the most important thing, right?
“Then, the most important thing after that is whether he is allowed, if he is victorious, to still pursue those even bigger fights, that the people will draw the narrative of that signing limiting him to.”
Following Haney’s comments, reports emerged that Haney is set to announce a ‘landmark’ deal with boxing broadcasting giant DAZN.
I'm HEARING Devin Haney is inking a "landmark" deal with DAZN.

The move follows Teofimo Lopez – a potential opponent for Haney in the future – signing directly with DAZN rather than a more traditional deal with a promotional company.
Boxing journalist Dan Rafael also confirmed that the mandatory Davis defence will be made.
