Deemed by many to be the hottest prospect in boxing, Moses Itauma is poised for a monumental 2026, where he could potentially get his hands on the heavyweight world title. Now, Tony Bellew has declared his belief that there are only two heavyweights on the planet that would get the better of the youngster.

Itauma has excelled in each of his 13 professional outings, fighting beyond the second round in only two of his bouts to date and rising into title contention despite competing in only three rounds during 2025.

At present, Itauma sits as the number one contender with the WBA and could soon challenge newly crowned WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion Murat Gassiev, but he must first get passed Jermaine Franklin Jr. at the end of the month.

Speaking with eSportsBets, former cruiserweight world champion Bellew heaped praise onto Itauma but admitted that both Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury could prove to be too much of a step up for the 21-year-old at the moment.

“There’s nobody in the world right now, apart from Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, who Itauma couldn’t pick holes in and beat. Apart from those two, he’s gonna nail anyone. He’s gonna catch anyone. The big fact is, will they nail him first?

“Only Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are capable of making him miss and making him pay. All the other fighters in the division, he will catch them.”

Itauma takes on Michigan’s Franklin on Saturday, January 24, at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, as he looks to do what Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua couldn’t and stop the durable American contender.
