Bob Arum and Top Rank have finally agreed a new broadcast deal.
Top Rank had spent the previous eight years airing their shows on ESPN, where the likes of Terence Crawford, Tyson Fury, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Naoya Inoue were all involved in fights that massively progressed their respective careers.
That long-term partnership came to an end last summer, and with each month that passed without a new deal elsewhere, fans had concerns over Top Rank’s future in the sport.
Those worries have now been eased though, after it was reported by Ring Magazine that Arum and Top Rank have signed a multi-year deal with DAZN to air their shows moving forward.
“The Ring has learned that Top Rank and DAZN have reached an agreement on a multiyear partnership that will be announced this week. The deal will provide Top Rank with between eight and 10 dates per year and will pay license fees between $1 million and $1.25 million per event.”
Top Rank’s current stable includes the likes of big names Teofimo Lopez, Keyshawn Davis and Bruce Carrington, along with reigning world champions such as Xander Zayes, Abdullah Mason, Emanuel Navarrete and O’Shaqiue Foster.
The addition of Arum’s promotional outfit means that DAZN is now home to another major operator, having already had deals with the likes of Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.
Arum has been involved in boxing since the 1960s, with this new broadcast deal seeing the veteran promoter continue his long and successful career for more years yet.
