ANDY LEE has laid out exactly how he thinks Joseph Parker can beat Daniel Dubois on Saturday night and become a two-time world heavyweight champion.

It’s been just over eight years since Parker claimed the vacant WBO crown with a majority decision win against Andy Ruiz in Auckland. The 33-year-old New Zealander is in Riyadh this week as he and trainer Lee work towards ending the reign of IBF titlist Dubois.

Both Parker, 35-3 (23 KOs), and Dubois, 22-2 (21 KOs), are two of the most in-form heavyweights and each carry great momentum in Saturday’s contest. Chatting to Boxing News Lee, a former world middleweight champion, explained how his man can take Dubois’ title.

“I see Joe out-jabbing Dubois using a variation of jabs to beat him, to confuse him and to demoralise him.

“Joe’s been a world champion, he’s a world class guy, he’s in the form of his life and he’s going to make a believer out of Dubois.”

The Dubois jab is a stand out attribute in the champion’s boxing DNA. Once it begins to fire in singles and doubles it takes a terrific fighter and the right tactics to nullify it and take it away from him.

“He has a great jab and it’s his greatest asset but he has to start every attack with that whether it be single jab or double jab. It’s usually the similar pattern of double jab, right hand, left hook, body(shot).

“He uses the double jab to close the distance. Even if it doesn’t land he throws it anyway just to get him in range. It’s a great thing for Joseph because we’ve got to use his greatest asset and make it a weakness.”
