Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao have been linked to a showdown in the potential co-main event of the blockbuster Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua bill in December.

Now, ‘King’ Khan has addressed those rumours and revealed his one condition for the contest.

A big undercard is expected to support the long-awaited bout between Fury and Joshua in Cardiff, with a host of major names mooted to appear on the night – including boxing’s only eight-division world champion, Pacquiao – who has not fought on an undercard in over two decades.

‘Pac Man’ has been rumoured for a meeting against pound-for-pound star Shakur Stevenson, as well as Danny Garcia, Joe Cordina and Khan, with the latter being the one that has captured the most public interest and appearing the most likely.

Khan has said he’s happy with the terms presented for the fight but told Boyle Sports, that he would not but accept the fight being on the Fury-AJ undercard.

“It’s clearly rubbish, I can say that. But there is interest elsewhere, with other people and other promotional companies, in making the fight happen.

“I’d love to take that fight. I would say yes to it. It’s not something I would say no to, but not on the AJ-Fury undercard.

“I don’t expect Manny to be on the AJ undercard at all.”

When quizzed on why Khan would turn the fight down, the Bolton fan-favourite revealed that he would not want to steal the show, believing that a clash between he and Pacquiao is a ‘bigger fight’ for the international audience than Fury-Joshua.

“You don’t want to steal the show. Nationally, AJ-Fury is a massive fight, but internationally, Amir Khan-Pacquiao is a massive fight, a bigger fight. But I think it’s their night. I wouldn’t even want to fight on the same show because it’s their night and their big fight.

“They deserve it more than anyone. AJ-Fury, what a fight it is. It’s a fight we’ve all been waiting for. Let them have that time. That’s their time.”

Fury-Joshua takes place on Friday, December 11 with the full undercard expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
