ALOYS Junior did not mince his words at today’s press conference, insisting that his clash with Ellis Zorro is likely to end in brutal fashion.
Their cruiserweight matchup, which was announced just a few weeks ago, will feature on the undercard of Ryan Garner vs Reece Bellotti.
Looking to deliver a particularly explosive performance is Junior, 10-1 (9 KOs), who, despite his lack of experience, is swiftly establishing himself as a truly ferocious puncher.
In any case, though, the 22-year-old will take a mini step up in levels on Saturday evening, hoping to replicate his emphatic performance on the undercard of Josh Taylor vs Ekow Essuman in May.
Back then, Junior dismantled sturdy operator David Jamieson through three rounds, before declaring himself the ‘King of Scotland’ in a gloriously audacious post-fight interview.
Zorro, 18-2 (7 KOs), meanwhile, has bounced back with just one six-round points victory since his stoppage defeat to Chev Clarke in May of last year.
Before that, the 32-year-old found himself on the receiving end of an even more devastating finish against Jai Opetaia, the IBF world champion, in 2023.
Yet despite his choppy run of form in recent years, Zorro should nonetheless introduce Junior to a stern but calculated test at the Bournemouth International Centre, England.
Ahead of their domestic dustup, Junior wasted little time before revealing exactly how he expects the Queensberry Promotions co-main event to unfold.
“Ellis Zorro doesn’t love his family,” he said at today’s media event. “I don’t understand why he’s taking this fight, but he clearly doesn’t mind getting knocked out.
“I don’t mind doing that in front of thousands of people. I don’t understand this false persona. This man fears me, and he knows he’s dancing with death.”
In response, Zorro said: “He crossed the line with that family comment; there will be consequences outside of boxing.
“We know Aloys has got power, but a lot of his opponents have been there to be hit. For me, I can’t be getting hit with no silly shots, and I’ve got to box smart.”
